Peach Blossom Luck

2023 is ruled by the Rabbit — one of the cardinal Peach Blossom Luck animals! This means all of us are being blessed with an extra boost of Peach Blossom Luck Qi this year. So what does that even mean?

Peach Blossom Luck (PBL) is a very special kind of Qi that ignites the opportunities for love and wealth. ‘Opportunities’ is the key word here. It doesn’t mean that PBL guarantees love and wealth but rather the possibility of having love and wealth enter our lives. What we do in that brief moment of possibilities is entirely up to us… And that’s where it gets beautifully complex.

There are many types of PBL in East Asian metaphysics including in the facial features, Bazi/Saju natal charts, Animal spirits, and the astrological cosmic stars that rule time.

Some teachers believe only certain people are blessed with PBL. But I was always taught we all have PBL. Some of us have more of it while others have less. Some of us have more access to it in a particular year while others have less. And none of that even matters because it’s all about how you use your unique PBL that ultimately determines its outcome.

I like to think of PBL as Jing in Chinese medicine and two Western scientific concepts, epigenetic and neuroplasticity.

Jing is loosely translated as Essence. We have prenatal Jing from our parents (and ancestors) that make up our constitutional health. Additionally, we have postnatal Jing that is influenced by our daily health and wellness habits like diet, exercise and sleep. There are some people who are born with strong Jing simply because they come from a long line of ancestors who were able to live healthy lives. This allows them to be a bit more risky. For those with a weaker postnatal ing have to be more mindful of cultivating their postnatal Jing like prioritizing their health and wellbeing to make up for their weaker postnatal Jing. Neither is better than the other.

Someone with a strong postnatal Jing may not realize how fortunate they are to have a strong constitution, and therefore may live a reckless life until it eventually catches up to them. Think: the classic workaholic who despite having previous health issues continues to work themselves to death.

Another person might have a weak postnatal Jing but understand the value of making their health and wellbeing a priority, and despite having to live a more cautious life, they actually end up being more at ease. The bottom line is, whichever category we belong to, we have the ability to change the way we live.

Our body, minds, and surprisingly our spirit are far more plastic than we believe it is.

PBL works in the same way as Jing, epigenetic and neuroplasticity. Recognizing the quantity of our PBL Qi gives us a framework to begin learning how to refine the qualities. There are many ways to cultivate PBL Qi — the magnetic attraction that invites the possibilities of love and wealth into our lives. This isn’t magic — it’s metaphysics. Learning to align with our PBL is the foundation of reclaiming our story.

It’s an outline — a simple how-to — of your story with the opportunity to be the sole narrator. The major points are there. All we have to do is to live out our story.

In addition to 2023 being ruled by the cardinal PBL animal, the Rabbit, there are certain months and days throughout the year that have specific PBL stars that amplify the Rabbit’s Qi. The month of March is also ruled by the Rabbit which means we get an extra EXTRA boost of PBL Qi!

These opportunities throughout the year are meaningless, and frankly a waste, if we don’t know how to work with our unique PBL — the ones revealed in our facial features and natal chart — and how to align with the cosmic PBL that governs time.

But once you learn to align with your PBL — it’s pretty much game over.
