I was living in New York City with a lucrative career and a loving boyfriend. From the outside, it looked like I was living the perfect life but I was empty, lost, and unfulfilled.
Skeptical yet desperate, I received my first acupuncture treatment. Within a month, I was able to walk again. I immediately quit my job, sold everything, ended my relationship, and bought a one-way ticket to Hanoi, Vietnam. I spent nearly two years traveling around the world aimlessly until I made the decision to come home, and pursue studying East Asian medicine.
This traumatic experience led to rediscovering my Destiny and the journey back to my Dao.
As a Corean American, I grew up with East Asian metaphysics and my family lineage of face reading (Gwansang in Corean) and Bazi (Saju Palja) but I needed to unpack the complexity of internal racism to fully grasp the powerful medicine of my ancestors. I spent a decade decolonizing and liberating my mind, body, soul, and spirit with Daoist healing practices; and I continue to do so.
Elemental Archetypes is a sacred space dedicated to sharing the practice of Daoist healing and elevating East Asian culture with dignity. I have over a decade of training and lived experience as a doctor of East Asian medicine, somatic embodied practitioner, and mindfulness group facilitator. I also bring my personal and ancestral practice in Daosim and Engaged Buddhism in the tradition of Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh.
My vision is that as we begin to reclaim our beauty, the stories of our ancestors will unfold, and our transformation story will reveal itself to guide us back to our Destiny. I'm excited to share this ancestral medicine with you, and honored to be of service.
